22TP105 – Problem Solving Through Programming – I
Build strong programming fundamentals through problem solving, algorithms and C programming.
Course Description
This course is aimed at imparting knowledge of the basic concepts of the C programming language and problem solving through programming. It introduces students to the basic structure of a C program, data types, operators, decision-making statements, loops, functions, strings, pointers and file manipulations.
By the end of the course, students will be able to design, implement, test and debug complex problems using features of C programming.
Prerequisite Knowledge
Fundamentals of Problem Solving
Students are expected to have a basic understanding of problem-solving concepts before beginning the course.
Course Objectives
Understand fundamental algorithms and programming concepts.
Understand the basic structure and components of a C program.
Apply data types, operators, expressions and input/output operations.
Apply decision-making and looping statements to solve programming problems.
Work with arrays, multidimensional arrays and strings.
Design and use user-defined functions, recursion and library functions.
